Hung Ngo

I work at the point where a business problem meets the technology that could solve it. For most of my career I've stood on one side of that line or the other, and the work I do now is about bridging it.

I studied IT at the University of Technology Sydney and started out as a software developer, which taught me how systems work from the inside.

Then I spent more than a decade running companies as CEO — first in manufacturing, then in e-commerce — and co-founded startups along the way. That taught me the other side: operations, teams, customers, the P&L, and how much of a business depends on the right information reaching the right person at the right time.

I've also worked in Vietnam's motorsport industry, in event organisation and operational management, where a system either works under pressure or it doesn't.

Today I bring both sides together as a forward deployed engineer. I work inside an organisation to understand how it really operates, then build, integrate and improve AI and software solutions with the people who use them. I co-founded Vaxera AI, an AI engineering company, with Hai Le, and my client work is delivered through it. FusionLogic — an operations application for immigration law firms — grew out of that work, and is now being deployed with three of them.

Having been a CEO matters here. I know what it's like to be the person deciding whether a technology project is worth the money and the disruption. So I try to give the advice I'd have wanted then: plain, specific, and honest about what won't work.
